Walk for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer is a national family-oriented, noncompetitive walk that raises millions of dollars each year to support breast cancer research, treatment and education programs at City of Hope. Walk for Hope is about action. It is a statement from our community that no one will ever fight this disease alone. Our Walkers are advocates for those who turn to City of Hope for help when they need it most.
Here are some of the startling statistics that inspire us to come together and Walk for Hope:
♦ The chance of a woman having invasive breast cancer sometime during her life is about one in eight. ♦ The chance of dying from breast cancer is about one in 35. ♦ Nearly two out of three women with invasive breast cancer are age 55 or older. ♦ Read more facts and stats from the American Cancer Society (PDF)

City of Hope and breast cancer
City of Hope’s dedicated health care and research staff are committed to patients and their families to live longer and better lives. Our pioneering science already has led to therapies such as Herceptin which targets the most aggressive breast cancers without affecting normal cells. Our scientific team engaged in trials that transformed treatment from radical mastectomy to breast conservation, and advanced the adoption of chemotherapy and hormonal therapy for patients.
